sachavonkarl74 Had to listen to this one several times before true appreciation surfaced, as it is quite different from Sworn's very first album, which is sounding more aggressive in my humble opinion. That said, this "Journey" is a good one too, though not massively innovative, it's an immersive experience with great guitar work and catchy melodies. Not as fast and not as raw as "classical" Norwegian BM, as there is maybe even too much synth/keyboard to qualify as such, but enjoyable regardless. Favorite track: The Forsaken.

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.
